The Farmers and Artisans Market in front of the Public Market building will be held every Friday from May 19 to October 7 from 10 am to 3 pm.
The Gibsons Public Market has posted the rates and conditions on its website.
There will be three types of tables. Premier Vendor Tables will cost $20 per day plus $10 for power and water. Vendors must commit to a 21-week attendance. They need to make a one-time payment beforehand of $420 or two $210 instalments on May 12 and May 19.
Spaces for Premier Vendor Tables may be subject to change. They will be named in marketing materials of the Public Market.
Regular vendor tables are available after Premier Vendor Table spaces are determined and cost $25 per day. The payments are due during setup of each Friday market event.
Farmers and gardeners can drop off produce to be sold during the Friday market at a consignment table. Items need to be identified so that staff know something about what they are selling on the growers’ behalf. The sales amount for the day can be collected at 3 pm less a 25 per cent commission to the market.
Vendors may bring vehicles for loading and unloading but there is no vendor parking on site.
Everything sold at the Farmers Market needs to be made, baked, grown or raised in British Columbia by the sellers themselves. Reselling is not permitted.
The Public Market expects a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, seedlings for gardens, frozen seafood, fresh flowers, fresh bread, local honey and preserves, local chocolate, and other ready-to-eat foods, as well as an array of local artisans such as potters, photographers, glass blowers, jewellery designers and more.
